This coaching position offers leadership to support the head coach in all facets of the program. The position works together with the head coach for maintaining a consistent competitive program, including instruction, recruitment and retaining student athletes, planning opponents, coordinating team trips, individual training, coaching team members, as well as other tasks assigned by the head coach. This position guides and challenges student athletes to grow spiritually (discipleship), academically and athletically to offer opportunities to Christian services through athletic competition. The assistant coach is obliged to adhere to the rules, policy, regulations and compliance standards set by the written mission and vision statement of Jessup University, the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletics Association) and the Pacwest (Pacific West Conference).
● instructs student athletes in the techniques needed to excel in their sport
● Offers Christ -like (Biblical) leadership in collaboration with the head coach and sports manager for the program and the athletic department
● In collaboration with the head coach, he successfully recruits and studies student athletes of high moral character and integrity.
● Mentors and supervising student athletes, student employees and team managers
● In collaboration with the head coach and with appropriate budget approvals, schedules, team trips, meal planning and accommodations
● Disciples and assists with character development of student athletes
● represents Jessup University at conference and national meetings as assigned
● In collaboration with the head coach, supervises, prepares and maintains supervision of the program budget
● Offers fundraising efforts to support the athletic department, as well as the program as assigned by the head coach and the athletic department
● maintains responsibility for a variety of administrative support tasks such as assigned by the head coach in areas that reflect the strengths and expertise of the candidate ● Take part in extensive trips to games, practices and athletics -related events
● Woon compulsory coaches and department meetings.
● Complete other tasks as assigned
