The Jeep Recon has been unveiled as the brand’s first all-electric model aimed primarily at off-road use, essentially presenting itself as a battery-electric version of the internal combustion engine Wrangler.
The Jeep Recon features an electric powertrain with all-wheel drive thanks to a dual-motor setup producing 650 hp and 840 Nm of torque. The Jeep Recon can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, thanks to a 100 kWh, 400-volt battery that offers a U.S. EPA-estimated range of 250 miles.
Jeep has yet to specify the Recon’s charging capabilities, although it will be built on the Stellantis group’s STLA Large platform, which should be in line with models that use a 400-volt architecture and will have a peak charging capacity of 175 kW.

The Recon’s front drive unit uses an 11:1 final drive ratio with an open differential, while the rear drive unit uses a 15:1 final drive ratio with an electronic limited slip differential. Traction management is handled by the Selec-Terrain system which offers Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand and Rock modes, along with a Selec-Speed Control low-speed hill climb and descent function.
In terms of off-road capabilities, the Recon has an approach, breakover and departure angle of 33.8 degrees, 23.3 degrees and 33.1 degrees respectively in Moab trim with 33-inch tires offering a ground clearance of 231 mm. The suspension consists of unequal length double wishbones at the front and a multi-link layout at the rear.
The Recon EV draws another parallel to the Wrangler in terms of bodywork, with the new battery-electric model designed with doors, rear window and tailgate glass that can be removed without the use of tools. However, unlike the Wrangler, the Recon’s roof cannot be completely removed; It can be specified with a standard double-glazed sunroof or with a one-touch powered unit.

Inside, the Recon EV features a 12.3-inch driver instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, with the latter touted as the largest offered in a Jeep model to date. Audio is provided by an Alpine sound system, using speakers located under the seats to continue operation when the vehicle’s doors are removed.
The two-level center console features a wireless device charger on the upper level and cable routing to a lower compartment, and the interior door panels are modular with removable straps and interchangeable luggage solutions. At the rear, the luggage compartment can hold up to 1,866 liters with the rear seats folded, while the front trunk can hold up to 85 liters.
Production of the Jeep Recon EV will begin early next year at the Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico, and pricing for the Recon will start at $65,000, starting with market launches in the United States and Canada, with other markets to follow. According to Coachthe Recon will be launched in the UK and Europe in late 2026.
