The Jaguar Type 00 concept was not received with overwhelming enthusiasm, but we still hope that the upcoming EV of the British automaker will still be a compelling option in the Ultra-Luxe Space.
For the first time announced in December, it is expected that the type 00 – or whatever the production version will be called – that will be launched later this year. Prior to the debut, a new espionage video has surfaced with prototypes that test on public roads.
Taken prisoner by the Ncars YouTube Channel, the images reveal two prototypes that navigate through the winding mountain roads of Spain. According to the videographer, one of the vehicles seems to be further in development, with updated wheels and new body details that are not seen on the original concept.
Both prototypes remain heavily camouflaged, making it difficult to distinguish many of the final design details. However, there is one indication that we can collect from the video: the sound. See if you can hear it:
Listen carefully, and you might be able to catch the vague rumbling of what sounds like a motorcycle. Although it is subtle, the videographer points out that it makes “a sound that is clear that is of a V-8 engine”. In view of the fact that the upcoming luxury coupé of Jaguar will be completely electric, this is likely that this is an artificial motorcycle nut that is discussed through external speakers – a common feature under modern performance -Vs.
Jaguar has previously emphasized that the new EV “Everything is about exuberance,” said Martin Limpert, worldwide director of the Range Rover-Uubmerk. That said, drivers do not expect the same rough, V-8-driven sensations from models such as F-Type or F-Pace SVR even if that means that some customers lose.
Yet the performance is not missing. Jaguar has confirmed that the production version of the type 00 986 hp delivers and must offer at least 430 miles (692 kilometers) reach on the WLTP cycle.
The production model is planned to make his debut later this year, with the sale expected in 2026 or early 2027.
