Jadon Sancho transfer latest: Serie A is committed again after major development at Napoli – Man United News and Transfer News | The People’s Person

Manchester United striker Jadon Sancho could finally seal a long-discussed move to Serie A, with a new report outlining a major development involving Napoli.

Sancho’s Serie A is close

It would be an understatement to say that Sancho’s spell at United has not gone to plan. Fortunately, a divorce this summer seems a certainty.

His contract expires at the end of the season and there is no indication that United will exercise the option to extend his stay for a further 12 months. Sancho is currently on loan to Aston Villa after Chelsea United paid a fine to waive their obligation to sign him permanently. Sancho will be released unless he secures a transfer this month.

The England international hasn’t cleared any trees yet at Villa, but that hasn’t stopped him from constantly being linked to clubs in Turkey.

But there have also been rumors of a possible move to Serie A, which is nothing new when it comes to Sancho. Juventus launched a strong bid to get him in 2024, but they ultimately lost to Chelsea.

Last summer, Roma made a strong push for Sancho, but he turned them down, preferring to wait for what he considered more attractive opportunities.

Napoli was previously also mentioned as an admirer of Sancho and now, Tuttomercatoweb have claimed that Antonio Conte’s side are ready for the 25-year-old again.

Sancho transfer update

According to the newspaper, Napoli is doing everything it can to secure attacking reinforcements before the end of the winter period.

This move was prompted by David Neres’ injury, which is now believed to be much more serious than initially feared. Neres is ready to undergo surgery due to a tendon problem, which may keep him out of action for several weeks.

This is where Sancho comes into the picture, although it remains unknown how serious Napoli are about attacking them.

Even more important is the question of whether Sancho could finally be tempted to move to Italy after turning down the opportunity to do so in the past.

If the transfer goes through, Sancho will be reunited with two of his former United teammates, Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay.
