IU first-year guard Aleksa Ristic, a resident of Serbia, is now on campus and has joined the team for the 2025-26 season. He is expected to make next week’s trip to Puerto Rico.

The 6-foot-4 Ristic posted photos on his Instagram account on Friday of a photo shoot in the IU dressing room.

Ristic committed himself to De Hoosiers on 16 June and the program officially announced his signing on July 8.

Last month, Ristic played seven games for Serbia in the FIBA U20 Eurobasket in Heraklion, Greece. He on average 11.3 points, 6.3 assists, 1.9 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 2.4 turnover in 32.1 minutes per game.

Earlier this week in his press conference, Darian Devries said he was hopeful Ristic and Bosnian big man Andrej Acimovic would soon arrive in Bloomington.

“They will get tired when they arrive here,” Devries said with a smile. “We must certainly have one of them for sure, hopefully, the next day or two. That is our hope. Then we will acclimatize him as soon as possible. If that means he gets the chance to play great in Puerto Rico. If we can’t get it close enough, the last thing we want to do is put him in a position where he just isn’t ready.”

“But I am enthusiastic about that. It will just add to our depth, the more boys get the way we get in the fall, hopefully healthy. Hopefully we can get in good condition through Puerto Rico and get some more bodies and that depth will continue to develop, will be important to us.”

IU Basketball leaves on Monday for an exhibition tour of three games in Puerto Rico.
