The judge could not split Major Jay (Art Major) and Onesmartfella (Tintin in America) while fought an epic finish in the $ 50,000 John Higgins Memorial Final The Main Harness Racing Event in Gloucester Park on Friday evening.
In a wide gambling race favorite, Cee Dee Three found the early lead and it seemed that he would be difficult to beat once he had been left alone. Major Jay was caught early and driver Gary Hall JNR decided to race outside the leader, who was not completely unexpected because he had won his heat in this way.
Major Jay and Onesmartfella August 1 Replay
Hunt The Magic was in the field behind the leader with a sound wave, but then had to go three wide. In the meantime, Onesmartfella only had one runner behind him in the capacity twelve runner -field.
The field went in the back in the back of the back with a number of runners wide, including Sound Wave, which was in one phase four ways for home.
Cee Dee Three still led, but Major Jay stayed away and he got better from the favorite. It was looking for Onesmartfella who was still good back, but driver Chris Lewis woven his way through the peloton with Sound Wave and they went to De Lijn with Major Jay almost closed together. Eventually a dead heat was explained between Major Jay and Onesmartfella with sound wave half a cup of third place.
Hall JNR was uncertain at the finish.
“I wasn’t sure if I had come there. I thought I was definitely at the top of the straight, but then I had a look at the line. I thought I had done enough to hold. And so on top of the straight if you said I could have caught it with both hands.”
Lewis was also not completely confident.
“I couldn’t stand the other horse in a row, so I thought we probably won, but as it was we won it, but won it with something else. He got a nice run in it. We were a little bit back, but we got a reasonable run in. He is good at home. Jemma and Ross Hayman (the trainers) do well”.
The race was performed in a winning miles of 1.58.8.
Earlier in the evening, Powerhouse Pacers Mighty Ronaldo (Alta Christiano) and Magnificent Storm were involved in a fascinating battle in the Free for All Mobile Pace with the first claims of Honor on the line and Alcoponie in third place.

It was a classic tactical battle when Gary Hall JNR was in charge with Mighty Ronaldo and Aiden the Campo on a beautiful storm that decides to go upstairs and not to let Mighty Ronaldo dictate the conditions of the pace.
The two ran together and Hall allowed Mighty Ronaldo to set a fast pace, but he received a crucial breathing break in 29.5 seconds for his first quarter. But he then walked his last two quarters in 27.7 and 27.8 seconds to really bring it to the beautiful storm that pulled itself at the level of the level with Mighty Ronaldo when straightening.
Mighty Ronaldo play again 1 August
But while Mighty Ronaldo continued to give, refused to admit the beautiful storm and at the finish Mighty Ronaldo had a little more than two meters over the beautiful storm.
When winning Mighty Ronaldo joins the $ 1 million club next to the beautiful storm that ran a sterling race in second place.
Gary Hall JNR praised Mighty Ronaldo but was also admirable for a beautiful storm.
“I didn’t want to be caught too fast to go too fast, because you know that storm is coming. The first quarter of 29.5 seconds brought a bit of a smile to my face and from there thought with the quality of the horse we had under it, we could let him earn it from there”.
“He did great”.
āStorm never knows when he should lie down, you never know you have it until you have it. I was pretty confident in the 400 meters because Aiden itched a bit on him. Ronnie still went pretty well when Storm made half a length on us just before we had a race.
“He is going as well as he can go. You could best claim a career”.
Magnificent Storm will be improved by that run and Harness racer fans to look at their future collisions that will hopefully culminate in the edition of the Group 1 WA Pacing Cup this year to be performed in November.
