US Border Patrol sector Chief Gregory Bovino – the brutal agent who led a Falanx from soldiers to Macarthur Park this summer – was mentioned on Wednesday as a witness in a crime shop against a protester, who reportedly hit a federal agent.
Bovino, one of the faces of the immigration content of President Trump that started in Los Angeles and has now begun in Chicago, took the position to witness to witnessing an attack committed by Brayan Ramos-Brito in Paramount on June 7.
Bovino, equipped in his Green Border Patrol uniform, testified that he witnessed Ramos-Brito who dragged his arm back and hit an agent with an open palm in the chest.
The incident took place during a skirmish outside of a federal building between federal law enforcement agents and the locals frustrated by Trump’s immigration policy.
In a cross -hearing, the federal public defender Cuauhtemoc Ortega Bovino interviewed on the subject of a misconduct examination a few years ago and receiving a reprimand for referring to immigrants without papers such as “scum, dirt and waste”.
In this way, Bovino denied referring to immigrants without papers and said that he referred to “a specific criminal illegal alien” – a Honduran National who, according to him, had raped a child and had introduced the United States and was caught or near the Baton Rouge Border Patrol Station.
“I said that about a specific individual, not about people without papers, that is not correct,” he said.
Ortega pushed back and read from the reprimand, who signed Bovino and stated that he described ‘illegal aliens’.
“They didn’t say illegal alien,” said Ortega. “They said that you described illegal alien beings and / or criminals, because excess, waste and dirty misconduct. Is that not correct?”

Ortega said that Bovino was warned if he again committed a copy of misconduct: “You could be fired.”
More than 40 people are accused of a series of federal violations, including attacking officers and interfering with the enforcement of immigration, during the protests in the city center or the scene of immigration -raids in the region this summer, said the American law firm in LA this week.
The Ramos-Brito case is the first to end up.
The business revolves around a protest outside the Paramount Business Center, across the street from Home Depot.
The tensions were already high, with federal officials rising a shop and distribution warehouse in the center of La and arrested dozens of employees and a top union officer in the center of La.
In the Paramount Complex, where a research offices of Homeland Security are housed, demonstrators started to arrive on 7 June around 10 am. Among them was Ramos-Brito.

Asst. Our Atty. Patrick Kibbe said that although many protesters demonstrated ‘passionately’, Ramos-Brito crossed a line by beating the American border patrol agent Jonathan Morales.
“There is a constitutional right to protest peacefully. It is a crime to hit a federal officer,” said Kibbe.
Federal public defender M. Bo Griffith said that Ramos-Brito was the victim of an attack, not the other way around.
Both social media and body-worn camera images that are played in court clearly show Ramos-Brito first, which sent him back to the busy intersection of Alondra Blvd. While images show that Morales marches back to the agent with his fists, no corner is clearly recorded the alleged attack.
Apart from Morales, three other agents took the position on Tuesday, but nobody said they saw Ramos-Brito Morales touch. None of the agents who testified was equipped that day with cameras worn by body, according to Border Patrol Asst. Chief Jorge Rivera-Navarro, who serves as staff chef for “Operation at Large” in Los Angeles.

In the hearing, Griffith Morales and Mejorado confronted with inconsistencies between descriptions of the event they previously gave to a Homeland Security Investigations Officer and their testimony before the court. It was not the first time that such a discrepancy influenced the matter.
Federal Public Prosecutors previously charged against Jose Mojica, another demonstrator who was arrested in addition to Ramos-Brito, after video images that questioned the testimony of an immigration enforcement agent.
According to a research summary of Mojica’s arrest that was previously assessed by The Times, Mejorado claimed that a man shouted in his face that he would shoot him, “hit him against the Paramount protest. The officer told him and other agents began to chase the man, but were” stopped by two other men, later identified.
Video played in the court on Tuesday and previously reported by the Times shows that the series of events did not happen. Ramos-Brito and Mojica were arrested in a dogpile of agents after Ramos-Brito reportedly hit Mojica. There was no chase.
In the past about Mojica’s case in July, a spokesperson for the domestic security that they were unable to comment on matters “under active lawsuits”.
Defense lawyers said Ramos-Brito had several bruises on his face, neck and back and had cut and scratches on his body to be dragged over the sidewalk later.
According to his lawyers, the only earlier interaction of Ramos-Brito with law enforcement was for driving without a driver’s license.
The case could prove to be a Bellwether for other immigration protest charges filed by Acting US Atty. Bill Essayli in a region where many potential jury members have negative views on enforcement of immigration, or can be immigrants themselves.
On Tuesday morning, the American district judge Stephen V. Wilson had to remove 21 potential jury members from the swimming pool, some of whom said they could not be impartial because of their views on immigration policy.
Many of the potential jury members said they were the first or second generation of immigrants from the Philippines, Colombia, Bulgaria, Jamaica and Canada.
“I believe that immigrants are part of this country and I am a bit partly with the suspect,” said a man, a landscape of Lancaster.
