The police have arrested a assistant professor IIT Jodhpur for alleged abuse and man handing of the institution during a department meeting, officials said on Thursday.
The teacher was released on bail. Later in the evening, however, the IIT administration suspended the teacher.
A dispute between director Avinash Kumar Agrawal and university professor Deepak Kumar Arora (Chemical Engineering) broke out during the meeting on Wednesday morning. It led to heated arguments between the two. The verbal spit soon became violent when Arora Agrawal attacked. Both were injured in the incident.
Station House Officer (SHO) Lekhraj Siyag said that both the director and the professor have submitted against each other against each other, and an investigation has started.
