The Super Falcons had five different scorers yesterday in their 5-0 win over Zambia in Casablanca.

Pachuca Femeni Striker, Chiwendu Veronica Ihezuo, is now striving for the Wafcon 2024 Golden Boot. The 28-year-old has so far scored in all three matches of Nigeria, including her third goal of the tournament in the big win over Zambia.

While the Super Falcons are preparing for the semi -final, IHEZUO says that her focus is on scoring more goals to help Justin Madugu’s team achieve mission X.

“First of all, I thank God for today’s victory and for the efforts of my teammates,” said the former Monterrey women in her interview after the game with breathola Victor.

“I am speechless. After scoring three goals, my goal is to keep score, to continue and never give up. The team inspired me; my morality was so high when I scored that I didn’t even know how to celebrate because I was delighted.”

She added: “I want Nigerians to continue to support us with everything they have. We do not promise to abandon them. We will make them proud.”

IHEZUO is only one goal behind the current top scorers, Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak and Senegal’s Nguenar Ndiaye, both of whom have four goals.

The Super Falcons are confronted with the winner of the quarterfinals between South Africa and Senegal. The competition will take place later today at 8 p.m.
