In 2023, Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz led Poland to the semi-finals before their country was defeated by the United States. Last season, Poland enjoyed another deep run in the United Cup before ending in the same way as 2023 – with a semi-final loss to the United Cup.
Heading into the 2026 United Cup, Poland are once again considered favorites for the title as they will be led by Swiatek and Hurkacz.
Swiatek: We played well, but we had some bad luck
“I don’t know what to do. I feel that we have played very well in recent years, but we have been a bit unlucky, especially against Germany, where we had match points to win the tournament. But we have to take it step by step from the beginning. There is no point in thinking about winning now, because first we have the group stage matches.
