In addition to the nine teams confirmed through co-hosting rights and Super Eights qualification, three more countries have secured automatic places through the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings.
Bangladesh, Afghanistan And Ireland will occupy those final automatic places, pending official confirmation on March 9 – the day after the 2026 final. With no international matches scheduled before the cut-off date that could change the rankings, their qualification is all but sealed.
In its official statement, the ICC clarified that the final three automatic spots would go to the highest-ranked teams, outside those that had already qualified, based on the March 9 rankings.
