Eddie Howe and his players traveled to Villa Park on Saturday.
Undoubtedly grateful that it could finally be action on the field, at least to a certain extent …
The opening match of the Newcastle season United saw a very good point away from home and a performance that earned more.
Eddie Howe says; “I thought we were beautiful, for the foot, very aggressive.”
It was precisely the completion of the opportunities that United prevented United gained a deserved victory, which of course was only conducted in the Alexander Isak interview after the last whistle.
Eddie Howe talks to BBC Sport after Aston Villa 0 Newcastle 0:
“I’m happy with the point.
“I thought we were beautiful, for the foot, very aggressive.
“We had opportunities to score.
“I think we had a bit of a silence in the game until the red card and then came strong again.
“I am disappointed that we have not won. I do not think that, in coincidence, we were dominated the way we wanted to have dominated. We might have been a bit too anxious to score, but the players really showed up and gave everything.”
Eddie Howe asked BBC Sport about needing a striker:
“I can’t criticize anyone who played today.
“I thought Anthony Gordon was very good in that position. I could not accuse his performance.
“I think we should concentrate on how the team functioned instead of any individual.
“If you are not completely together in the Premier League, you will find it very difficult.
“I think today we have answered a few questions in terms of our mind. We have to do that regularly, not just today.”
Eddie Howe asked for Alexander Isak from BBC Sport:
“From my perspective you want a resolution quickly.
“It takes away the focus of the players, from the supporters.
“We want to be united together.
“We want a resolution, but we have no control over that.”
Eddie Howe speaks with TNT Sports about the situation of Alexander Isak:
“It’s hard to answer.
“I hope it will be solved soon because it is news around us all the time.
“Players have succeeded in excluding that and to perform. We must continue to do that.
“We have to cope with the story against us.”
Eddie Howe asked TNT Sports about the next face of Liverpool:
“It is always tough against Liverpool, there is a history of the fixture.
“We’re looking forward to it. We know how good they are.”
Eddie Howe asked TNT Sports about Anthony Elanga during his debut:
“He was really good.
“I thought he was immediately, the real quality showed.
“He looks like a player who will raise us.”
During his press conference after the game, Eddie Howe asked for the future of Isak:
“The door is good and really open, but Alexander Isak has to decide what he wants to do. We want a resolution, we need that clarity. I have no control over it, but only one person is. I made my attitude fairly clear.”
Eddie Howe asked if Alexander Isak will now be fined by Newcastle United, after reportedly not made himself available for the Villa competition:
“Other people have that problem.
“I concentrate on the team”
Regarding the outcome of the game, Eddie Howe asked the ‘What if’ Alexander Isak had played?
“It is easy to say (we would have won with Alexander Isak), but there is no way to know that that is the case.
“Of course we will miss him”
Eddie Howe about the songs of the traveling fans of Newcastle United focused on Alexander Isak after the competition, as ‘there is only one greedy bass..rd’::
“Whatever happens (with Alexander Isak), our supporters acted very well today, because they supported the team when we were playing.
“They have always done that incredibly well.
“If they want to say something afterwards, they are free to do that”
