Port Vale man George Hall has declared himself “back up to speed” and ready to make his mark at Vale Park.

Attacking midfielder George Hall came to Port Vale from Birmingham City on deadline day. Since then he has made six appearances for his new club as he tries to continue in new surroundings.

After making his debut from the bench in a 2-1 win over Mansfield Town on September 20, Vale boss Darren Moore has been careful with Hall and his fitness. Since then, he has started the 21-year-old just twice.

Hall believes he is close to full fitness and lasted almost 90 minutes in the team’s 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon. That result extended PVFC’s unbeaten run in League One to five games.

Speak with BBC Radio Stokethe Port Vale midfielder declared he is ready to make his mark on the pitch.

“I came up with a lot. I wasn’t too busy with it, it was just that little bit of competitive sharpness that I needed,”

“I feel like I’m back up to speed now and ready.”

Hall has fallen victim to a number of injuries in his career, only once playing 30 games in a season. Despite his past, the 21-year-old feels like he is picking up speed and feels like he can make a real impact.

“It’s that little half second with your touch and it’s a fine margin,” he said.

“Once I get up to speed, I know what my quality is and what I can do to help the team.

“There are many different positions I can play and I have to adapt to each position.

“When I came here I saw the quality of the squad and knew it wouldn’t be easy to start, but it encourages everyone and keeps it competitive in training.”

George Hall is ready to move on after a loan spell at Walsall

Hall spent last season on loan at League Two side Walsall from Birmingham City and impressed in 22 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Hall missed three months of the season due to a muscle problem. The midfielder would return to play his part in taking the Saddlers to the play-off final.

The player’s form in League Two earned him a move to Port Vale. PVFC were one of four teams to take Walsall to promotion.

Now fit again, Hall will be determined to show PVFC fans what he has to offer. Injuries hampered his development at Birmingham City, but he has long been touted as a top player and so will be determined to fulfill that potential in his new colours.

What’s next for Port Vale and George Hall?

Hall’s Port Vale have not lost in League One since September 6, when Leyton Orient beat them 3-2.

Vale’s results leave them third in the League One form table, behind only AFC Wimbledon and Stevenage – two teams in the top six.

Moore’s side will look to continue their unbeaten run when they visit Wigan Athletic this weekend, a side who are without a win in four games.

Next, PVFC host Stockport County and then travel to Bolton Wanderers in the league, two sides aiming for promotion that will test the team’s resilience.
