Harry Redknapp has talked about Newcastle United and Eddie Howe.

The former Spurs and West Ham manager discusses the NUFC head coach and his team five months into the season.

Newcastle United next play Leeds United, kick-off at 8.15pm on Wednesday evening at St James’ Park.

Harry Redknapp tells BetVictor: “I know Eddie Howe won’t be happy with the season so far…”

Newcastle United are looking to win the Premier League three times in a row, after winning 3-1 at Burnley and 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace.

If there are other results besides a win over Leeds, Eddie Howe and his players could finish in the top five after the midweek matches.

Next week Newcastle United face Manchester City in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, and next week it is PSV at St James’ Park in the seventh of eight Champions League matches. Eddie Howe’s side have likely already secured a place in the play-offs for the knockout stages, while wins over PSV and PSG will almost certainly see NUFC finish in the top eight and automatically qualify for the last 16.

Harry Redknapp points out that Newcastle United “It remains a very difficult team to beat at home”which is certainly true. Since September, Newcastle have played St James’ Park 11 times and scored at least two goals in each of them, creating nine wins and two draws, with zero defeats.

Five of Newcastle’s next six games are at St James’ Park and next up is of course Leeds United, with Harry Redknapp on commentary: “It’s been a great few weeks for Leeds, credit to Daniel Farke. I’ll be honest, it looked like he might be in trouble but he’s changed the system and it’s clearly working.”

It looked like Daniel Farke would be sacked after Leeds went on a run of six defeats and one win in seven Premier League games, but that they would then follow up with a run of seven games unbeaten, although five of those were draws and only two were wins.

Harry Redknapp predicts a 2-1 home win on Wednesday evening and names the player he thinks he should watch out for: “Bruno is such an important player for Newcastle United. When he plays well and dictates the game, Newcastle usually wins.”

I can’t argue with that as the Newcastle United captain has been inspiring again this season, also providing a total of seven goals and four assists. His final goals came when he scored the third from distance to secure victory at Burnley, before scoring the crucial opening goal against Crystal Palace. In that Sunday match, Bruno also almost repeated the goal straight from a corner he scored in Burnley’s home game, this time although Dean Henderson saved through the crossbar.
