Howe reveals search for top talent such as “Fearless” signing shocks Newcastle staff

There is not too much to scream and write home with regard to Newcastle United’s preseason so far.

With only three goals scored and no victories (not that they are the point of the preseason), the coming Sela Cup matches offer a last chance for us to build a big momentum on the way to the Premier League campaign 2025/26.

But a positive thing about the pre-season tour in Asia was the performances of the newly signed Youngster Park Seung-Sooo: only the newest young person who joins our much improved Pole of Under-21 talent.

And his versions against both the K-League XI and Spurs have not gone unnoticed, because Eddie Howe gave him a special praise in a recent interview …

Speaking to the media at the height of our tour through South Korea, Howe Park has credited for his fearlessness and attitude after a few promising displays for his home in South Korea.

When asked about the recruitment work that was done to secure the 18-year-old, along with his first impressions of the winger during training sessions and his first two outings, Howe spoke strong about him and our scouting network:

“Yes, I think we have some really good scouts around the world,” said Howe. “We constantly look at every competition and try to cover every competition as detailed as possible.”

“I think the work that goes to the park has really been a good job. I was really impressed by him.”

“He comes in our training very quickly. Almost thrown into some game situations and I think he did very well.”

“It seems that he has a really great personality: he is fearless and I can’t praise him enough for his impact in the two games and the training sessions.”

It is assumed that although the club had high expectations of Park and hoped to see him gradually progress through our under-21-side, some employees are shocked by how well he looked, both in training and his two cameos in Korea.

Park, whose signing was previously confirmed in the window, will enjoy a slightly different approach and career path compared to what we usually hand over a young person.

Where a player such as Antonio Cordero is borrowed from KVC Westerlo in Belgium, Park will be held in the northeast instead to develop his talent.

This could be a cameo in the coming Sela Cup Double header in St James’ park against Espanyol and Atletico Madrid, which would be a good litmus test to try to find his current level.

At the age of only 18 he made a fantastic first impression, and we can hope that in the near future he would see some domestic cups made before a complete integration into the Senior Squad in the line.
