After several rumors from all over the world, Honda finally put the money where his mouth is. The Bikemaker has picked up his first contemporary four-cylinder entry bike, which has the name CBR500R four. It is square aimed at the emerging inline four segment with small capacity, headed by the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R. Although full details remain under wraps, there is enough to get excited. Let’s jump in.
The Honda CBR500R Four has a new 502cc inline-four engine
This is the highlight of the motorcycle. The new CBR bends a 502cc, inline-four engine, which is approximately 100cc more than the Ninja ZX-4R. That extra capacity helps to have ~ 80 hp – four more than the ninja. However, we do not know for sure whether this is the basic number or with RAM air.
By continuing, the mill works together with a six-speed gearbox and an e-link system you can forget the coupling lever. You can switch on and down without using the clutch and even starting without standing without. Interesting is that the e-coupling assembly is now on the right side of the bicycle, in contrast to the existing setup on the CBR650R.

Simple suspension and sporting ergonomics form the substantiation
Apart from the engine, the CBR500R Four is a fairly simple machine. From the Showa Forks to the Nissin brakes with petals, much of it looks like the parallel-twin CBR500R that we get in the US. The wheels are also identical, although the tubular chassis seems visible to the chair. It is the same story ergonomic. We see somewhat rear pins, not too aggressive clip-on bars and a split saddle. Once on board, you will also notice that the cockpit is familiar with Honda’s staples 5-inch TFT with RoadSync app connectivity.
The big difference then comes to the design. The four do his own thing here, with new tubs, a slim LED headlight and no aerodynamic protrusions. Similarly, the fuel tank is new and seems much more muscular than the P-twin CBR500R. A special scream also goes to the lower cockpit with cracks, so you can enjoy watching the four shiny headers.

Honda still has to launch the CBR500R internationally
We will be honest: we like what we see here, and we are quite enthusiastic about the latest CBR. At the same time we limit our enthusiasm, that is also what you have to do. That is because the CBR500R Four has been shown only in China for the time being. There has also been no confirmation about the international arrival. However, we keep our fingers crossed and hope that we have an official confirmation through Honda Around Eicma 2025. Oh, and a neo-retro naked version of the CBR is also in the work (shown above).
