Traditional motorcycle makers have difficulty adding excitement to the electric segment. The Kawasaki Ninja E-1 and the Z E-1 are ambitious offers, but these fall flat when it comes to excitement. Zero Motorcycles is the only long -standing that currently offers griny electric sports bikes. HondaHas, however, enthusiastic about his “Ev Fun Concept” that was exhibited on EICMA 2024. And the very first “nice” electric bicycle with performance in the middleweight comes super close to production.
Honda has dropped a teaser that also reveals a few new functions on the very first electric naked bicycle of the brand. Although it has not been explicitly stated that it is a production spec model, this unveiling is very close to the time frame that Honda promises for the launch of his medium-sized electric motorcycle. So we may finally see the cool new electric bicycle from Honda in the meat.

A lot runs on Honda’s very first electric bicycle
The teaser shows a heavily camouflaged (hopefully production -special) Honda EV nice concept. Although most visual functions from last year are identical to the concept, we get to see a few new ones. The most striking is a new rectangular TFT that will most likely house a operating system with functions that include the superior functionality of the motorcycle. We hope that Honda adds a brand new and integrated operating system, similar to the Cypher III+ on zero motorcycles.
The triple clamp also seems to have been revised, with bolts that are now placed at the front of the fork tubes. With a more complex switching device on the right, the steering wheel, which should be the operating elements for the display. There are a few elements that we thought they would be omitted in the final production version, but have been retained, such as the single -sided swingern bridge and the beautiful, floating subframe design. These bits will certainly look futuristic.
Promised performance is impressive
But the acceleration can be short -lived
Although most performance specifications are still unknown, Honda has mentioned that the production spec model of the EV Fun-Concept will have ‘middleweight levels’. This places the Eonen compared to the relatively “boring” Kawasaki E-1 duo. The very first electric naked bike from Honda is expected to have gear levels that are comparable to those of the 650cc middleweight sports bikes, such as the Honda CBR650R and the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
However, the range looks ablly layer, where Honda claims that it has only 62 miles, which is said to be “sufficient for city use”. Weight management is one of the main reasons why this EV has no larger battery. We hope that Honda will find a solution for pressing a larger fixed battery here; Otherwise the “pleasure” will be short -lived! The alternative plan of Honda to compensate for the short distance is the use of super fast charging hardware (CCS2 Quick Charger) that is more common in cars.

Together with the concept of naked sports bike, Honda also showed a tight-looking EV Urban concept scooter at EICMA 2024.
