Marco Silva has compared and contrasted Alexander Isak and Nick Woltemade.
The Fulham boss was due to face Newcastle United and the Germany international on Saturday, with Woltemade replacing the now Liverpool striker.
Marco Silva believes the signings of both Alexander Isak and Nick Woltemade are very positive indications of the success of Eddie Howe’s choice of transfer targets and where he will spend the club’s money.
Newcastle United have more than doubled the £63m they spent on Alexander Isak when they bought £130m from Liverpool, then committed a potential £69.3m (£65m plus £4.3m possible future add-ons) to Nick Woltemade.
Marco Silva believes Newcastle United have signed an exceptional replacement for Isak, with Big Nick scoring four goals in five Premier League starts (five goals in seven starts including the Champions League), as well as putting in an excellent all-round game that brings other NUFC players into the game.

“Very good striker, very good striker (Nick Woltemade).
“Of course they also had an incredible striker (Alexander Isak) in the last three seasons.
“It’s nothing new for them.
“It’s a good sign for them as a football club.
“If they lose a great striker because Liverpool spent so much money on him, that means recruitment, and they have done well.
“They went for a slightly different style (with Nick Woltemade), but to immediately spend the money they spent on him and the impact he has had, I think is very good.
“One is slightly different, probably not as aggressive in space as Isak was, much more of a player who directs the game very well. And of course he can score inside the penalty area.”
“He (Nick Woltemade) already showed that he can score in many different ways within the penalty area.
“The match against Brighton is a good example, the way he was able to finish and score that way.
“He is a very good one, as he can sometimes be the extra midfielder and for example he comes to connect their play and support them to overcome the first pressure.
“And within the framework, his profile is of course very good.”
