“While as a team we are proud of our volume leadership at Hero MotoCorp, we are all acutely aware of the opportunities that exist in some of the other categories, which are growing faster and where we are relatively underrepresented,” Chitale said in an analyst call.
“Therefore, we see a large scope for growth and market share expansion in categories such as scooters, premium motorcycles, in global markets, in the EV sector, and especially in the parts and accessories sector as we are a company with the largest fleet size in the market,” he added. For the December quarter, the company reported revenues of Rs 12,487 crore with a PAT of Rs 1,275 crore.
The company said it sold 16.97 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters in the last third quarter, against 14.64 lakh units in the same period of the last fiscal, a growth of 16 percent.
Chitale stated that the company has one of the largest vehicle fleets in the country. “So each of these five (segments) will be a big opportunity for growth, and this is what we are focused on as a team to accelerate and gain market share,” he added.
Chief Financial Officer Vivek Anand stated that the two-wheeler major would focus on executing and accelerating its growth ambitions in the coming years.
“We will also focus on ensuring our supply chain is flexible, robust and resilient. We have all seen some of the disruptions we have faced as an industry due to various crises and geopolitical issues.
“And those challenges are not over yet. There will be many more to come. As a company we have navigated this well, but we must always be prepared and ensure we are agile and have a robust supply chain,” he stated.
So that will remain the focus of the company as well, he added.
“Going forward, our journey of investing in growth will continue. We remain consistent in our commitment to investing in premium scooters, EV portfolio, global operations and improving customer service in stores with Hero 2.0 and Premia,” said Anand.
The company remains confident about the growth prospects of the two-wheeler industry and expects the sector to grow at double digits this quarter, he said.
“The current demand trend is broad-based across our portfolio, and with the launch of new products, supported by investments in brand building, we expect to be ahead of the industry,” Anand said.
The sector has grown by double digits since October last year, he said.
“We expect the same trend to actually continue in the coming year. However, as we move into the second half of the year, we see some moderation in growth due to the high base,” he added.
So, overall, the sector is likely to grow at high single digits in the coming financial year, Anand said.
Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler maker, on Thursday reported 12% growth in standalone net profit at Rs 1,349 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2025.
Last quarter’s net profit was impacted by a one-time charge of Rs 119 crore due to the implementation of the New Labor Act, which came into effect on November 21, 2025.With inputs from PTI
