Ford Focus ST
I hope the 2014 Ford Focus ST I used during Covid is appreciated at the same rate as the problematic, overpriced RS. I don’t need 100 hp anymore to have fun, because the 250 hp that the ST has is enough.

WRX’s and Evo’s…
WRX STIs and Evos are definitely the next bubble. Especially unmodified garage queens. Doug Demuro just released a “brand new” 04 STI and it’s already worth almost $70,000 with 6 days left on the auction.

…and their also-rans
Taking it a step further, I expect the market to appreciate unmodified Legacy GTs (especially the Spec-B with the STI 6-Speed) and Forester XTs. These cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find. I wouldn’t be surprised if the MK 7 and 7.5 GTI/R market goes crazy in the coming years.

This isn’t to say the Forester XT and Legacy GT aren’t as good – I loved my LGT. They’re just less legendary.
Ford Bronco
I’m waiting for market developments for Boomer cars. One day, the price of a ’65 GT350 Mustang won’t be $150,000, and a Sunbeam Tiger won’t be $70,000.
As for future classics. You have to think that the current Bronco will be in the mix in thirty years.

On a rare occasion I can see the vehicle in question, but I can’t afford it. I KNOW the price is going to rise again and then I will never be able to buy one again.

Focus RS
I saw the headline and thought, “Ooh, I hope it’s mine!” And look. From your mouth to God’s ears. Happy to sell mine at the height of the market. Only 500 in Race Red. No lowballers, I know what I got.

Kia Stinger
I could see that the Kia Stinger could grow in popularity. 4 door sleeping cabin. Maybe the 1st gen 4Runner if you can find a stainless one.

Please direct all enthusiastic interest to the manual so I can grab an automatic for cheap.
Ford Maverick
Ford Maverick. It’s the modern form of the small pickup that Americans have longed for for centuries. In a world where safety and fuel consumption regulations are becoming increasingly strict, I see trucks just getting bigger and bigger. So I see that a new “mini truck scene” is emerging with Mavericks.

I don’t want a Maverick, but I don’t want that either not wants a Maverick.
Acura Integra
Focus ST/RS would be my vote, so I’ll go with the DC Integra instead. We’re already seeing it a bit, but I think we’re only at the beginning of the curve. Clean title examples are becoming increasingly rare, as are cars with less than 200,000 miles. I think we’ll see every DC Integra with a clean title, ~150,000 miles, and no rust creeping towards 10,000.
Many people who wanted one as a kid can now afford one, and they should be willing to pay a little for one that isn’t a total mess.
And yes…I’m one of those people…finally got the car I swooned over in high school…just got lucky with a clean title 2001 GS with 131,000 miles for a reasonable price (under $5,000)

I think these are already on their way, to be honest. I tried to get one when I first started at Jalopnik, but couldn’t find one in my budget that wasn’t made of rust.
