Dhanashree Verma, ex-wife of the Indian cricket player Yuzvendra Chahal, opened about their failed marriage in a recent episode of the Reality Show Rise and Fall.
The show, organized by Ashneer Grover, has achieved the headlines for his emotional and controversial moments and this time it was Dhanashree that became the center of attention.
While she spoke with fellow participant Arjun Bijlani, Dhanashree broke off when she remembered how things changed between her and chahal shortly after their engagement.
“It was love and arranged both. He wanted to get married without dating, and I didn’t even intend. But the love and affection convinced me,” she shared.
She revealed that their Roka took place in August and they married in December 2020. But within that short period she noticed a visible shift in Chahal’s behavior.
“During that time I traveled with him and stayed together. I started to see subtle changes in his behavior. There is a difference between how people act when they want something compared to when they get it,” she said emotionally.
Dhanashree admitted that she kept trying to make things work despite the growing distance.
“Although I saw him change, I put my faith on him. My problem is that I give too many opportunities. I tried everything I could and gave my hundred percent,” she added.
When asked if anyone else was involved, Dhanashree hinted that the story was more, but chose not to work out. “We will talk about it later. I will always worry; that care will never go,” she said, fighting tears.
As a reminder, Chahal and Dhanashree, the knot made a divorce in December 2020, but in February 2025, which was completed a month later. After their split, Dhanashree joined Rise and Fall, while Chahal is said to go out with RJ Mahvash.
