After winning the toss, Sri Lanka Women opted to bat first, aiming to set a challenging target on a surface that provided some early help to the bowlers. However, their innings received an early jolt when they were skippered Chamari Athapatthu was dismissed for a two-ball duck.
Hasini Perera briefly stabilized the innings with a fluent 27 off 34 balls, hitting five boundaries. The backbone of Sri Lanka’s total came from Harshitha Samarawickramawho anchored the innings with a patient 70 off 112 deliveries, peppered with seven fours. She found useful support from Kavisha Dilhariwho contributed a valuable 45 off 58 balls to keep the scoreboard ticking in the middle overs.
Late cameos from Dewmi Vihanga (12) and Sugandika Kumari (9 off 6) helped Sri Lanka reach a respectable 217/7 in the allotted 50 overs. For the West Indies, Matthews also led from the front with the ball, posting impressive figures of 2 for 33 in her 10 overs. Karishma Ramharack also claimed two wickets, while Afy Fletcher And Asmini Munisar chipped at one each to prevent visitors from posting a larger total.

Chasing 218 for victory, West Indies Women got off to a shaky start Qiana Joseph left early before 2 and Shemaine Campbelle followed soon after for a duck, putting the hosts under early pressure.
However, Matthews showed her class and composure to turn 119 deliveries into an excellent 100. Her knock, studded with 13 boundaries and a six, mixed patience with timely aggression. Despite the defeat in the third ODI, Sri Lanka Women secured the three-match series 2-1 after winning the first ODI by 10 points and the second by 14 points. However, the win will give West Indies Women valuable momentum and confidence heading into the T20I leg of the tour.
