Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has had one of his most memorable weeks as a professional player.

The England international spent most of the 2022/2023 season on the bench under Erik ten Hag.
That summer it looked like United would finally sell him, with West Ham United showing significant interest in the player.
Nevertheless, a deal did not materialize and the defender has since slowly rebuilt his career at United.
The mistakes aren’t nearly as common as they used to be, with Ruben Amorim’s back five offering him much more protection.
Moreover, he has also developed a talent for scoring crucial goals, such as a late equalizer against FC Porto and the last-gasp winners against Leicester City and Olympique Lyonnais.
He added a winner at Anfield to his collection last Sunday, delivering an absolutely crucial victory for the Red Devils and their first at the stadium since 2016.

However, it wasn’t just his goal that impressed this weekend, but along with Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw, he played a big role in keeping Liverpool to one goal.
As a result of the match, he was named Player of the Matchweek by the Premier League.

Maguire made it a total eight evictions in the competition and won five of his nine dogfights.
He also made one interception and blocked one field goal in the game.
In his commentary on the game he claimed that this was due to his contract situationhe doesn’t know if he will ever play for United at Anfield again.
Maguire explained: “I’m in my last year now so this could be the last time I play at Anfield for this club so it’s really important that I’ve come here and ticked that off.”
