The high-quality young midfielder of Everton, Harrison Armstrong, has added an impressive distinction to his budding career, in which he informed the U19 side of England in a 2-0 win in a friendly Ukraine.
This leading role on the international stage on Pinatar Arena in Murcia, Spain, will be an important milestone in the career of the young player. Armstrong’s adult performances and clear leadership qualities have been noticed by the youth arrangement of England, and his captain of the U19s is proof of his growing influence.
The 18-year-old, currently on a seasonal loan in Preston North End, led the young lions from the center of the park while gaining a comfortable victory. The result still marks an important milestone for the talent born in Kirkby, which has been at both club and international level at both club and international level in recent seasons.
Although Ukraine had excluded an early goal for offside, it was England who took the lead in the 10th minute when Divine Mukasa fell the Young Lions. They doubled their advantage just after the hourly trip, when replacement made Shumaira Mheuka 2-0. Douglass Lukjanciks, the promising young keeper of Everton, was an unused sub on the couch.
Armstrong, who has been claimed by the Everton Academy since the age of 5, signed his first professional contract with the blues in July 2024 and made his Premier League debut as a late replacement in the match in Tottenham the following month. After a successful loan spell in Derby County last season, where he was nominated for the young player of the club’s season prize, the central midfielder completed a temporary move to Preston North End on Transfer Deadline Day to continue his development in the championship.
While gaining valuable experience of the Hill Dickinson Stadium, his continuous recognition of the national team emphasizes the potential that many Evertonians believe that he owns. The victory over Ukraine, with Armstrong at the helm, serves as a strong signal that the future is rosy for both the player and the club.

I thought the same Craig, he had to be a keeper.
But the decision to bring in Rohl raises the question, how do all these guys fit?
So Harrison is lent, cannot claim that he is developing, but is it the club’s intention to save or sell?

I don’t really understand why he went to Preston, but he looks in the making and someone we should strive to stay in the long term. Hopping will have a good season with Preston and return to our 1st team team for next season.

How much does the loan costs that Preston pay to get this boy for the season?

Seems a very sober young man. Wish him best at PNE and hopefully he returns an even better player.

Great to see an academic product with a lot of potential recognition and valuable experience. He has the potential to be a different find such as Branthwaite.
We must keep him and more young players like he develop.
