Former Bayern Munich -defender and World Cup winner Jerome Boateng has announced his retirement of professional football.
Between 2009 and 2018, Boateng 76 performances for Germany appeared, while spending 10 trophy-loading for years with Bayern who led him 22 major awards.
The 37-year-old ended his career in Austria with Lask, after he ended his contract last month due to mutual permission.
Boateng started his career at Hertha Berlin before he came to Hamburg, where the defender then spent a season in England in Manchester City in 2010-11.
The defender then joined Bayern and quickly settled as a first team regularly, and won the Bundesliga nine times and the Champions League twice.
Indeed, during his decade-long stint with the Bundesliga giants, only Thomas Muller (481), Manuel Neuer (437) and David Alaba (422) appeared more performances in all competitions than Boateng (363).

Boateng was also a central figure in the success of the World Cup of Germany in Brazil and all seven of the matches of his nation started during their run to the final.
In addition to Mats Hummels, Boateng Germany helped to keep four clean sheets, including in the showpiece match against Argentina, which they won 1-0 in extra time.
“I played for a long time, for big clubs, for my country. I learned, won, lost and grown by all this,” said Boateng. “Football has given me a lot, but now it’s time to continue.
“Not because I have to do it, but because I’m done. I am grateful for everything, for the teams, the fans, the people who have worn me.”
