Gunmen open fire in Naseem Shah’s home in Pakistan; Pacer remains with the national team

In a shocking incident, Pakistani fast bowler Naseem Shah’s house in Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa came under attack by unknown assailants.

According to reports, the gunmen opened fire at the gate of the cricketer’s residence in the early hours of Monday before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Despite the hair-raising attack, the 21-year-old pacer showed remarkable composure and opted to remain with the national team in Rawalpindi as Pakistan prepared for their home ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Reports indicate that Naseem’s father has already met the local police, who have assured a speedy investigation into the matter.

It remains unclear whether either of Naseem’s two younger brothers, both professional cricketers, were at home during the incident.

His brother Hunain, who made headlines with the winning streak in Islamabad United’s 2024 PSL triumph, recently played in a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match.

The youngest brother, Ubaid, who represents Multan Sultans, also played in the domestic league earlier this month.

Unfazed by the incident, Naseem has continued training and was included in the Pakistan squad for the opening match against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
