Manchester City squandered a 2-0 half-time lead to draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday as Dominic Solanke’s brace gave the north London side a result.
City took the lead through Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo, but were unable to maintain a good first-half performance after the break. The result is a setback for the club’s title challenge, with leaders Arsenal winning at Leeds yesterday.
Despite the drop in points, which leaves City six points behind Arsenal, Guardiola insisted his team will continue in the chase of the Premier League leaders.
“It was a good game. After the goal they conceded, we struggled. We came back. Overall it was a very good performance. Unfortunately we couldn’t win,” he told Sky Sports.
“They put more at the back, found a goal and then the momentum came. We couldn’t control some transitions. It wasn’t a big problem.”
“We are playing at a high level. We didn’t have the consistency to win the games when others could. Fourteen games is a lot of games. Six points [gap to Arsenal]. Next.”
