Another resident pointed to the economic losses and said: “This is Apple season. All our fruits are destroyed because of the weather. If the situation persists, we will suffer enormous losses.”
The destruction is not limited to farms. Bridges and connecting roads have collapsed and cut access to different parts of Manali. Many hotels and resorts are precarious near the river, with some all the risk of collapsing.
A tourist in Kullu told how a sudden cloud burst sent water in the area. “I was in my resort when the Cloudburst took place, and the water level quickly rose within a few minutes,” he said India Today TV.
