13 Emerging indigenous athletes profiled from boxing, surfing, car racing, motorcycle races, karate and more.

6-part documentary series Dreams large Profiling of First Nations Youth in Sport, will premiere on NITV in September.

Six 30 -minute episodes look at the life of thirteen emerging indigenous athletes from different disciplines, including boxing, surfing, car racing, flat track motor racing, sports climbing, karate and football.

Wirrim Media offers both visibility and inspiration for the next generation and has beautifully manufactured a series that NITV is proud of, so that the path to Elite Sport is demysted and at the same time strengthens the powerful message: if you can see it, you can be it. “

Dreaming Big follows the trips of these native athletes, between 12 and 19 years old, whereby their rough determination and resilience record in the pursuit of sporting excellence. More than a showcase of athletic ambition, every episode is deeply rooted in First Nations stories, in which personal triumphs are celebrated while exploring the challenges with which these young athletes are confronted on and next to the field.

The series also honors the rich cultural heritage of the First Nations communities of Australia. It weaves themes of perseverance, identity and unity together and offers a unique native perspective on sports and success. Through the eyes of the athletes, their families and mentors, the series reveals how individual performance shared victories are raised that entire communities.

Filmed at locations that have been chosen in collaboration with Local First Nations communities, every setting has cultural significance – transforming sporting land into powerful symbols of heritage and connection with the country.

When celebrating diversity and cultural strength, Dreaming Big leaves a legacy for future generations that can increase dreams, when rooted in identity and community, beyond the finish line.

Directed by Andrew Dillon (Le Champion) and Wirrim Media’s Abraham Byrne-Jameson (Debut broadcast), with writer/producer Richard Jameson OAM (Strait to the Plate Season 2) and Wildbear Consulting Executive Producer, Veronica Fury (and we dances).
