One of my highlights of last fall was the weekend in Gothenburg with my best friends, who live further away in Stockholm. After a fantastic steak frites and a few glasses of bubbles we walked to NK to try out every new perfume..
You know that feeling when something is a little solemn, almost ceremonial, but the smile still seeps through the corners of your mouth. There we were, close together and giggling between Diptyque and Le Labo, with our noses deep in glasses of coffee beans…
I, who love scents, found it difficult to choose.
But this past month I’ve actually gotten into a combination that I’m really enjoying.
A sample of Molton Brown’s Rose Dune which I received from my sister-in-law, together with a much used copy from Gothenburg Byredo’s eleventh hour, to create a scent that feels as personal and unexpected as I was looking for!

Rose Dunes opens with spicy saffron, blackcurrants and a bit of ginger, which then softens to rose, geranium and dark, earthy patchouli.
Together with Byredo’s Eleventh Hour, where peppery Ban Timmur (closely related to Sichuan pepper) meets figs, tonka beans and powdery cashmere wood, it becomes a fragrance that feels floral, deep and powerful at the same time.

For me, this scent will always be associated with hissing laughter and friendship.
a beautiful memory..
