In the first round, Pinto surprised Diniz by shooting for a takedown and then securing a dominant position after a great trip. Followed by securing full Mount Pinto, who kept control at the top with some ground and pound. After a sublime series of struggles, Diniz looked like his arm was about to lock in a gruesome kimura, but he survived without tapping.
A minute into round 2, Diniz finds himself at the bottom again, with Pinto in a strong dominant position. The Portuguese candidate places brutal elbows on the top and cuts the Brazilian open. Pinto in full mount reigns the shots after trapping Diniz and the referee stops the match.
