Have you ever watched The Godfather and found yourself craving a slice of rich, cheesy lasagna?
Or did you start craving your favorite childhood comfort food after watching a cartoon about your kids’ shoulders?
Millions of Brits are bringing our food straight from the telly to the table, with 63 per cent of us now making recipes inspired by our favorite films and shows, according to research from HelloFresh UK And Biggest+.
In fact, more than half (55%) of us now rely on shows and films for meal ideas, with social media, magazines and newspapers following closely behind.
To celebrate the British love for home entertainment (both on screen and in the kitchen!) HelloFresh and Paramount+ have come together to create ‘One Menu’. A Mountain of Entertainment’ – a range of dishes inspired by your favorite films and shows.
From Captain Picard’s Roasted Chicken and Red Wine, Apple & Sage Gravy inspired by Star Trek, and the Angela’s Family Dinner Crispy Chicken Tacos inspired by Landman, to the On Wednesdays We Wear Pink Risotto from Mean Girls – it’s the perfect way to make cozy evenings even better.

But you have to be quick! To qualify for three months of Paramount+, you must receive three HelloFresh recipe boxes by December 19. This means you have until November 28 to order your first box!*
Where do you get your inspiration?
It won’t come as a surprise that some genres inspire British food choices more than others, with travel influencing the most people (32%), followed by drama and comedy.
Other limited edition Paramount+ dishes in the lineup include
Yellowstone – Rip’s Ranch Steakburger
Tulsa King – Mom’s Spaghetti and Beef Meatballs
Landman – Texas BBQ style crispy breaded chicken tacos
The Godfather – Classic beef and pork lasagna
You’ll also find a choice of extras and desserts, including New York Style Cheesecake, inspired by Tulsa King; and Tear ‘n’ Share Garlic Dough Balls Tortoise Shell, a riff on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Interestingly, there were some generational differences, with Gen Z viewers drawing most of their culinary inspiration from comedies and cartoons, while 25- to 34-year-olds pointed to reality TV.
With family favorites like SpongeBob SquarePants still popular, the research shows that more than half (56%) of us reach for nostalgic comfort food after watching children’s shows – proof that TV not only inspires what we cook, but also stirs emotions.
Bringing characters to life
Unforgettable characters are at the heart of every great movie or TV series. But if you could pluck one from the screen and place it on your dining room table, who would it be?
When asked the same question, just under a fifth (16%) of Brits chose SpongeBob SquarePants, beating other icons such as Michael Corleone and Eric Cartman.
Learning more about our favorite characters as a movie or series unfolds is one of the most exciting aspects of home entertainment. By eating dishes inspired by them, fans can feel more connected than ever.
“It’s fascinating to discover this connection between what we eat and what we watch as a nation, with entertainment such as TV shows and films clearly fueling our curiosity in the kitchen,” says Mimi Morley Senior Recipe Development Manager at HelloFresh UK.
“Food has always been about storytelling, and every recipe has a sense of place, mood or moment and TV helps bring those emotions to life.”
Anna Priest, head of Paramount+ UK & Ireland, added: ‘This is a fun and creative way to connect with people – combining the stories we love with the meals we share.’
