Steven Gerrard has discussed his potential return to management and says that he is waiting in the wings if the right opportunity occurs.
The Liverpool -legend has not yet enjoyed the same success as a manager as during his illustrious gaming career, including being fired as Aston Villa boss.
Gerrard already left Saudi Pro League side in January Ettifaq, and now he is ready to have conversations with Rangers during a return to Ibrox, report Sky Sports.
Talk about Rio Ferdinand presentsThe 45-year-old discussed his next possible job and said he is open to the right challenge.
“I would like to go again at one point,” said Gerrard.
“I want to change a few things and improve a few things and come back fresh, with a few different people around myself.
“I would like to do a few more challenges and that is where I am working at the moment in the background – a few different ideas, a few different people around me.
“I know where I am strong and I know there are areas where I need good support, and I need special skills to make myself better and stronger, in terms of my employees and my group.
“I felt that I had that for a tee at Rangers [with Gary McAllister and Michael Beale].
“A lot of coach changes in Aston Villa and over to Saudi – I don’t think I helped myself from a personal point of view.
“So now I enjoy family time and I do many things that I have not been able to do, such as going to Grand Prixs and doing exhibition games with former teammates and superstars.
“But there is a part of me that still has the feeling that there are a bit of unfinished things, in terms of wanting to go and take on a few exciting challenges.
“I want a certain kind of challenge – if they become available in an ideal world, I will jump on them. If they don’t, I won’t go back.
“I want to be in a team that will compete to win because I think that suits me better.”

Gerrard won the Scottish Premiership title with Rangers in 2020/21, as a result of which rivals did not win Celtic 10 in a row.
Russell Martin was fired last weekend as a manager and the former captain of Liverpool is apparently a leader to come in.
There was a time when Gerrard was spoken about the successor to Jurgen Klopp on Anfield, but he now has to prove himself much more as a manager to take over one day of Arne Slot.
Being a play legend should not guarantee someone the best job – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer jumps up in me! – And Gerrard has to excel in his next club, whether rangers or elsewhere.
