Josh Sargent and Haji Wright hit the ground this month in the EFL championship game.
Sargent and Wright both scored in respective victories for their clubs on Saturday. It marked the second competition goal of the season for Sargent, while Wright abandoned his first of the Coventry City campaign.
The Canaries used a few goals in the first half to descend Portsmouth 2-1 and earned their first three points of the season.
Harry Darling pushed Norwich City at the front after six minutes before Sargent seemed to the visitors early eight minutes later. The native Missouri dived into the box to go home a movie, making it 2-0 for the Canaryenen.
Portsmouth withdrew a late goal, but Norwich City held up for a road victory, their second of the season in all competitions.
Sargent is now a maximum of 51 career goals for the Canaryi and brings him three behind Wes Hoolahan for fifth place in the club’s goalscores.
Norwich City then organizes Middlesbrough on August 23 before he was confronted with Southampton in the second round of the EFL Cup.
Haji Wright scores of Penalty Spot in the comeback -victory of Coventry City
Haji Wright celebrated his first goal of the new campaign when Frank Lampard’s Coventry City Squad won a dramatic victory in Pride Park.
Wright scored a penalty kick from a first half while the Sky Blues settled Derby County with 5-3 on Saturday. Although he fell 3-2 early in the second half, Coventry City ralled to score three goals and pull away for the victory.
Bobby Thomas and Callum Elder exchanged goals in the opening 12 minutes before Wright shot in the spot in the 25th minute. Carlton Morris attracted Derby County level in the first half of the stop time.
Ebou Adams pushed the rams for 3-2 in the 50th minute, but Coventry City benefited from the poor Derby County who defended to reverse the game in his favor.
Brandon Thomas-Asante and Ephron Mason-Clark scored three minutes after the hour to bring the score to 4-3 before Victor Torp added an insurance strike with 11 minutes to play.
Coventry City would persist for his first victory of the new season and moved to fourth place in the rankings.
Next for the Sky Blues is a home conflict with QPR on August 23.
