Napoli could return this summer for Manchester United wing player Alejandro Garnacho after then Ndoye chose to become a member of Nottingham Forest, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (Page 11).
The Serie A champions wanted to sign the Argentinian at the start of the year, but the asking price adjusted them. Garnacho also did not want to move to Naples.
However, the scenario has changed since then. The Red Devils have lowered their requirements for the winger. Napoli also has a ‘different attraction’ after winning the Scudetto last season.
Napoli recently missed the signing of Bologna’s Dan Ndoye for Ā£ 34.6 million after he decided to become a member of Forest. The club could now use the money to make a new raid for Garnacho.
The ‘Garnacho Idea Returns’ with Napoli is still open to signing a young profile wing.
United could prefer the unloading of Garnacho abroad
Garnacho had a decent campaign 2024/25 with 21 target contributions from 58 performances. However, most of his involvement came outside the Premier League, where he was inconsistent.
The 21-year-old was only a late replacement in the Euroopa League final defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, while he did not make the match day team for the last Premier League match against Aston Villa.
Garnacho reportedly had a fall -out with manager Ruben Amorim, and the Portuguese tactician has already told the versatile wing player to ‘find a new club’ during the current transfer window.
United is generally expected to say goodbye to the graduate. They have reduced their price tag from £ 70 million to £ 40 million. Garnacho seems to give preference to following next season in the Premier League.
He is said to wait for a Chelsea approach, but the blues still have to make an offer.
If United would choose his destination, they would ideally prefer to load him abroad. It would not be a good sight, seeing that the Argentinian is developing into an elite wing player who plays for a direct rival.
The Red Devils can be willing to further reduce their price tag to pay the Napoli budget (Ā£ 34.6 million), but the big question remains whether the Naples outfit can agree on personal conditions with the winger.
Napoli sports director Giovanni Manna revealed that the requirements of Garnacho were exaggerated last winter. A compromise is needed for the united graduated to join the Series A holders.
