Full details of the Newcastle United Carabao Cup semi-final against Manchester City announced

The dates for the Newcastle United Carabao Cup semi-finals against Manchester City have been announced.

The two teams will play each other home and away for a place at Wembley.

Newcastle United announce that the first leg at St. James’ Park will be played on Tuesday, January 13, with a kick-off at 8pm.

That match at St James’ Park will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and ITV.

Manchester City will host Newcastle United at the Etihad in the second leg on Wednesday, February 4.

The official announcement stating that; Should Arsenal beat Crystal Palace in the quarter-final next week, Eddie Howe’s side will kick-off against City at 8.15pm GMT. But if Palace triumph and beat the Gunners, Eddie Howe’s side will kick off at 8.15pm GMT. That decisive encounter will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.’

The upcoming fixture list after Saturday’s match against Chelsea sees Eddie Howe’s side face Man U (A) December 26, Burnley (A) December 30, Palace (H) January 4, Leeds (H) January 7, Bournemouth (H) in the FA Cup January 10, Man City (H) in the Carabao Cup January 13, Wolves (A) January 18, PSV (H) in Champions League January 21, Villa (H) 25 January, Liverpool (H) January 31, Man City (A) February 4.

Newcastle United are in the semi-finals of the competition for the third time in four years.

Last season they beat the likes of Chelsea, Forest, Brentford, Arsenal (twice!) and Liverpool to win the Carabao Cup.

This time it will be the likes of Spurs, Fulham, Man City and then Arsenal, Chelsea or Palace if Eddie Howe and his team are allowed to retain the trophy.
