Friday greetings from Bratislava! We are currently visiting the capital of Slovakia for a few days. This is a trip that offers a very exciting encounter with a country that is completely new to us!

A week and a half at home in Sweden

This time we got a week and a half at home, between trips. If you run a digital travel magazine, you do, and so do we Love to travel. But it was still nice to be home for a few more days! We hung out in the houseboat, worked on the computers, cooked and walked.

How can television become so complicated…?

One day we even tried to watch a TV series, but we gave up because we couldn’t get TV4 Play on the screen, despite persistent attempts and long “support calls” with ChatGPT. After an hour we gave up on the idea of watching TV and instead decided to cancel two other TV subscriptions we were paying for. This took another hour and a half… I can’t believe it had to be so complicated!

New logos for the Friday Blog and Travel News

We also had time to tinker with two new logos for the “Friday Blog” (our Friday post about our last week) and “Travel News” (our Monday post with short excerpts from press releases about travel, tourism and camping). What do you think…could these work?

Flight with Austrian Airlines

Well, now we’re in Bratislava, Slovakia, on a press trip! We flew with Austrian Airlines from Stockholm to Vienna, which only took about two hours.

Classical music is played on board and you are invited to a Mozart ball. If you want, you can also order Wienerschnitzel (or is it only on longer trips perhaps?). If it’s an Austrian airline, then yes, right!?

But wasn’t it Bratislava we were going to? Yes, but Bratislava is only 45 minutes by bus or car from Vienna, so shortly after landing in Austria we arrived in neighboring Slovakia…

A first meeting with Bratislava

We checked in straight away Sheraton Bratislava Hotelwhere we now live in a large and beautiful hotel room.

The very first encounter with Bratislava was then a short walk, past some designed high-rise buildings, to the Werk restaurant where we had a super delicious tapas dinner. After this we were able to see a lot more and it turns out that Bratislava is a very nice city, but we haven’t even had time to upload the photos from the mobile phone to the computer… We’ll be back!

This week: Thankful for…

This week we are grateful for the opportunity to experience a new country this year. We are also grateful that we have a super talented guide on this trip, through which we learn a lot about culture and history in a new corner of Europe for us!

Your turn… What are you grateful for this week?
