Cerundolo, the highest-ranked Argentine male tennis player, gave an interview to a local publication just before the start of the 2026 season.
After answering some questions about his career and results, Cerundolo received some relaxed but interesting questions. One of the questions asked to the 27-year-old made him choose a traveling companion between Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

“If I had to travel 12 hours, I would choose Nadal for several reasons. First, he speaks Spanish, which makes it easier to talk for 12 hours straight. Second, because of our musical tastes, which can be quite similar. And third, our cultures are more or less the same,” the 27-year-old said. Infobae.
After showing respect for Nadal by naming him as someone he would choose as a friend for a road trip, Cerundolo also named Federer as the player he would include in Argentina’s Davis Cup squad. Explaining why, the three-time ATP champion noted that he never got the chance to play against Federer on the court – and if the Swiss tennis icon was part of Argentina’s Davis Cup team – he would at least get the chance to practice with the former 20-time Grand Slam champion.
“I never got to play against him because when I started I only crossed him in a few tournaments, but then he quit. So I would love to play with him, even if it was just a doubles match, a rally, a practice session,” the world number 21 explained.
Cerundolo also named Djokovic as the Big Three member he would select as his coach.
