The longtime coach of former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou wants Dana White and his apprentice to call a truce on their ongoing feud.

The long-running battle between UFC CEO Dana White and former heavyweight titleholder Francis Ngannou remains as tense as ever, years after their feud led to Ngannou parting ways with the promotion. Ngannou signed with the PFL in 2023 after a lengthy contract dispute with White and the UFC.

Things have been tense between Ngannou and White for years, including most recently when White accused Ngannou of getting physical with him during a meeting at his UFC office. In response to White’s allegations, Ngannou did not firmly deny the claims, reigniting their feud.

As Ngannou ponders what lies ahead in his fighting career, Ngannou’s old ally wants to see him and White bury the hatchet.

Eric Nicksick publicly calls on Francis Ngannou and Dana White to ‘bury the hatchet’

In a recent interview with MMA fightingNgannou’s longtime coach Eric Nicksick responded to White’s latest comments about his feud with the former UFC heavyweight champion.

“I think my relationship with certain individuals is different than my relationship with other people,” Nicksick said of Ngannou. “I know what Francis brings to me and my family, and the way he treats me, and that’s the way I judge him based on his character. The same goes for Dana. Dana has been nothing but kind and wonderful to me. I wish that somewhere down the line these two can mend those fences, just on a personal level. I’d rather have friends than enemies, and ultimately I hope these guys can reconcile and put aside their differences.

“But when I look at it too, it’s almost like, just let him keep living his life. We don’t have to talk about this s— anymore. This, whatever happened, was probably almost seven, eight years ago. Why do we raise old kids like that, you know? And I think, in a lot of ways, it’s just, I don’t know. This is my personal opinion: Deep down, I feel like Dana does like Francis, and I think he does too. I miss the fact that they like him would like to have on that roster because of where the heavyweight division is now in the landscape of it,” Nicksick continued about Ngannou.

“Hopefully at some point those two can sit down man-to-man and just let all this shit go. Why do you want to carry that energy with you?”

Ngannou has called for a possible return to the UFC for a bout with Jon Jones, although White has repeatedly dismissed the potential reunion.
