Because we have reached that part of the NBA out of season, the debate about who one of the ten best players ever belongs to the Utah Jazz has been a hot topic. Part of the discussion has been hilarious, while some have been downright offensive. But when it was all said and done, a jazz man who was arranged shockingly layer, given his legacy, Basketball legend Pete Maravich was.

Maravich may not have been at the same level as Karl Malone or John Stockton, but according to all the accounts he was an NBA pioneer. During his heyday, Maravich was a rare copy for the competition, because most of the best players around his time were great men as Want Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Walton, Dave Cowens and Bob Lanier.
Simply put, Maravich could score and he could pass. He was dazzling highlights and did not need unreal athletics to surprise the public. He paved the way for the other Point Guards of all time who came after him, such as Steve Nash and Stephen Curry.
It would have been a travesty if he was a omission of the list, but arranged number nine, behind Carlos Boozer and Marc Eaton seems a bit. Maravich was not a first ballot from Famer, but he is one of only five people in the history of franchise to make it. The others are Malone, Stockton, Adrian Dantley and Jerry Sloan.
There is only one reason why Maravich would rank so low.
Maravich never brought the jazz to the play -offs
A considerable part of Maravich’s peak was when he played for the then new Orleans Jazz, although his NBA career lasted only 10 years. Despite his efforts, the jazz never reached the play -offs when Maravich was in the team. Unfortunately, despite the show he could set up, it is not difficult to see why there are some who question the floor impact.
Yet the jazz has rarely had players of all time who played a role in what the game is like today. Maravich may not have come close to leading jazz to the promised land, but he was very influential at stake. He is undoubtedly a jazz all-timer, but the ninth best player the franchise has ever had?
