Ford remembers 114,000 Mustangs because water corrodes body control modules.

-A Ford Mustang-BerroGraction from 2024-2025 comprises 114,000 cars that can lose their outskirts, including the side buy lights, rear lights and the license plate lights.

Ford says that the problem is caused by defective body hanging with which water can penetrate body control modules.

That water can penetrate the body control module and cause a loss of communication with the exterior lights.

Ford heard of the problem in April when a Mustang from 2025 had headlight problems while testing. An investigation stipulated that the claims of the lighting guarantee had increased since August 2024. Those claims said that interior and outdoor lighting and battery drain problems were caused by body control modules that have been influenced by water.

Engineers discovered leak points at multiple locations due to an incorrect application of the sealer. But the investigation was closed when Ford decided that the vehicles still met the federal safety standards.

However, Ford reopened the investigation in August when a “assessment of the data from the warranty claims demonstrated that the infringement of the water penetration can manifest itself faster than previously assumed”, possibly about violating safety standards.

From July 1, Ford 69 had warranty claims and 17 field reports with regard to water and/or corrosion at the body control module connectors.

About 8,500 of the recalled vehicles are in Canada.

Given that this was published by Ford in 2025 the 109th safety teaching, dealers are not ready to repair the Mustangs. The first Ford Mustang Recall Letters will be emailed between September 1 and September 5, 2025, after which the last Mustang Recall Knowal Knowledge will be sent between January 1 and March 31, 2026.

Dealers will, if necessary, seal the body seams and replace the body control modules if they are corroded.

Ford Mustang owners can contact Ford on 866-436-7332 and refer to the recall number 25c43 of the Mustang Body Control module.
