Now it’s that time again: for the third time we’re traveling to Tunisia, and by the time you read this, we’ll already be there. The first trip we did went to the desert in the southern part of the country and the second trip focused on tourist resorts like Sousse and Hammamet. Now it’s the desert areas again… but this time accompanied by hot air balloons!

Tunisia – an exciting country

Tunisia is an exciting and, not least, varied country in many respects. The northern part of the country offers a lot of Mediterranean culture with beaches, tourist resorts and Mediterranean cuisine. The southern part of the country is considerably more exotic for a Swede, with desert, camels and clear starry skies.

First trip

The first trip we took in Tunisia took us to the desert areas in the southern part of the country. We rode quad bikes through the desert, we rode camels at the gate to the Sahara and we spent the night in tents in the desert. It was a magical journey, if I may use that somewhat hackneyed word.

Second trip

The second trip took us to more classic tourist resorts, mainly Sousse and Hammamet. This was a very different trip from the first, but this was also a fun trip, including a boat trip to the Kuriat Islands.

Now we are traveling to Tunisia for the third time – for the hot air balloon festival

Now it’s time to rediscover Tunisia, during a press trip! This time we will experience a hot air balloon festival organized in the southern part of the country – specifically in Djerba, Douz and Tozeur.

We don’t yet know exactly what the program will look like, except that hot air balloons will take off in the morning and evening, but we know from experience that it often gets intense on these types of trips, with limited time to sit in front of the computer.

We’ll see how much time we have here at FREEDOMtravel to update, but if nothing else you can follow the journey on Instagram at @vrijsreisnieuws! There will of course be messages here in due course!
