Anthony Di Marco of the Daily Faceoff joined TSN Radio in Montreal on Monday and was asked if the Florida Panthers will make a big move considering their position in the standings.

NHL Rumors: Florida Panthers looking to add depth
Host: Are the Florida Panthers one of those teams you see making a big move before the deadline because they’re hovering in the wild-card spot?
Anthony Di Marco: “I would imagine that. For example, Bill Zito has already pushed all his chips into the middle, right? So what would be another big step in that direction? And he’s done it every year since he’s been in charge, almost. Even the year they got knocked out in whatever it was, the second round, he made those two big moves for Ben Chiarot and Claude Giroux. The way I look at it, it would be right up Bill Zito’s alley to make another move like that.”
NHL Rumors.com Note: The Florida Panthers aren’t afraid to make moves. They remain linked to players like Jamie Oleksiak, Mario FerraroAnd Connor Murphy. Florida is focused on defense when it comes to adding. It will be interesting to see how they make the money work.
Is Nazem Kadri on the way from Calgary?

Host: “Anthony, is this just a matter of time until Nazem Kadri gets moved at this point?”
Anthony Di Marco: “I’d like to think so. But I mean, the contract is still the contract, with three or four years left at $7 million. Look, centers are more expensive in the NHL, and we’ve seen that in recent weeks with the contract to Christian Dvořák and Alex Wennberg, who at first glance seem like overpayments, but again, the centers are few and far between.
But I, he has the non-trade protection. I can’t remember. I know it’s a modified contract, I believe, but as much as I want to say it’s a matter of time, sometimes I just look at that contract. I’m like, I’m not sure how many teams are going to be able and willing to absorb that for the rest of the contract years.”
NHL Rumors.com Note: The Calgary Flames will continue to rely on not only Nazem Kadri, but also Nazem Kadri also Blake Coleman. However, the Flames know they need some veterans in the lineup. At this point, Kadri wants to stay with the Flames. It will take a bid that GM Craig Conroy I can’t refuse to move him, but the teams are calling.
