Fitness Recipe: Chicken Gyoza Dumplings – GymBeam Blog

Asian gyoza dumplings represent the perfect combination of soft dough and juicy chicken filling with a high protein content. Thanks to their simple preparation and balanced nutritional values, they are ideal as a light lunch or stylish fitness dinner.

For the dough we need:

  • 200 g fine spelled flour
  • 130 ml boiling water
  • a pinch of salt
  • starch if necessary before rolling out the dough

For the filling we need:

  • 100 g Chinese cabbage
  • 2 cans of chicken fillet
  • 2 spring onions
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • piece of ginger of 5 cm
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

For the sauce and serving we need:

Instructions:

Mix the flour immediately pinch of salt. Slowly add the boiling water and stir the dough with a wooden spoon. Then knead it by hand until a smooth and non-sticky mass is formed. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest rest for 30 minutes.

In the meantime, cut the Chinese cabbage, spring onion, garlic and ginger. Add the soy sauce and drained chicken breastsand mix everything thoroughly by hand. Prepare the sauce by combining sweet chili saucesoy sauce and rice vinegar.

Then start preparing the dumplings. Roll out the resting dough on a plate with a little starch to very thin (it can be almost translucent). Use a glass to cut circles from the dough, place them 1 teaspoon chicken filling in the center of each circle, lightly brush the edges cold waterpress them together to form a dumpling. You can decorate the edges by pressing them with a fork or crimping the edges by hand, but that’s not necessary.

Chicken Gyoza Dumplings - Preparation

Fry the coated gyozak noodles in the pan oil until crispyand then steam them for another 5–7 minutes in a steamer (if you don’t have one, a colander is a good choice). Sprinkle the finished dumplings with approx ¾ of the prepared sauce and serve. You can serve the gyozak noodles sprinkled with sesame seeds and spring onionand dip them in the remaining sauce.
