The brown colt, bred by Albaugh Family Stable, is out of the mare Four Grands and comes from the direct family of top sires Not this time And Liam’s card . Four Grands, through Code of honor comes from the winning mare Taylor S and her grandmother is the late blue hen mare Miss Macy Sue.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the colt. He weighs just over 130 pounds and is just a big, strong colt with a lot of substance, a nice head, a lot of bone and an athletic frame,” said Steve Castagnola of Taylor Made. “He is currently running the paddock with his mother and is full of energy. We couldn’t be happier.”
A 6 1/4-length debut winner at Gulfstream Park As a three-year-old, Four Grands’ 2025 foal represents a return to a well-known sire line. Her first foal in 2023 is a colt from Dornoch’s grandfather, Curl and her third foal in 2025 is a filly by Dornoch’s father, Good magic . The mare also had one Nyquist filly in 2024, who was purchased for $500,000 by Steve Young, agent, at last year’s Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
“The Albaughs and I were big fans of Dornoch, and we wanted to continue with the (Curlin) sire line with an exciting stallion who could add some size and leg to the mare. We had a great result. If we had a barn full of individuals like this colt, we would be in great shape,” Castagnola added.
