Chael Sonnen does not think that the dubious cardio of Khamzat Chimaev will be a concern at UFC 319.
On August 16, Chimaev will once again step into the main event in the spotlight at UFC 319 for a long -awaited title conflict with reigning and defending middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis.
‘Borz’ goes as a favorite of 2 to 1 on the sports books in the competition, but predictions for the competition are fairly unanimous, with experts who believe that the longer the fight goes, the more it benefits the champion.
However, Sonen does not disagree.
“Chimaev has to get him down,” Sonen said Nice junkie. “He can’t just fight him anywhere. Then there is a big question about the conditioning of Chimaev. I don’t know if that is fair. We have seen Chimaev get exhausted. Fedor (Emeliansko) was always exhausted, but he never stopped. It is never delayed. And it is the same with Chimaev.
“I don’t think it’s fair to question his conditioning. I think he has a lot of energy and he uses it all, that’s what he should do. That is going to be tested and we will find out if that is correct. I also give Dricus a lot better than I was then Chimaev Whittaker and the fight was announced.”
Will the cardio of Khamzat Chimaev stand against ‘DDP’?
Chimaev usually comes out of the gate and want to dominate early. That strategy did wonders against Kevin Holland and Robert Whittaker, but ‘Borz’ struggled noticeably in his attacks against Gilbert Burns and Kamaru Usman – both of whom went the distance.

‘Borz’ eventually beats Burns and Usman, but his fading gas tank in the later rounds has fans who wonder how he will keep against the relentless attack by Du Plessis.
Fortunately we don’t have to wait much longer to find out.
