Calvert-Lewin scored for the fifth successive Premier League match on Saturday as Leeds defeated Crystal Palace 4-1 at Elland Road. The victory lifted Leeds six points clear of the relegation places, with Calvert-Lewin taking center stage again in the summer.
The 28-year-old joined Leeds from Everton on a free transfer this summer and the move has breathed new life into a player who scored just three league goals in the 2024/2025 season.
Farke has backed the in-form striker to earn an England recall if he can maintain his current form. Calvert-Lewin was last capped for the Three Lions in 2021.
“Very satisfied,” Farke said on Calvert-Lewin’s form.
“So obviously he’s a top player for us. I’ve talked about how highly I rate him and I’ve appreciated him from the beginning, from the first day he walked through the door.”
Last Christmas…🤩🤍 Another top performance and incredible support under the lights. I love it here. MOT pic.twitter.com/mfgEAKkjp6

“Of course the numbers don’t lie. He is in red-hot form at the moment. For me, as I said, one of the best English strikers in this competition.”
“He has proven it before when he has been fit and he has shown his quality. And at the moment he is on his way to really becoming a top-class player for Leeds United.”
