Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups: NFL Week 5

  • Woody spots remains the top that runs back: Marks is the top that is backwards for three consecutive weeks. This will probably be his last week where he is eligible, after having seen Yards and two touchdowns in week 4.
  • Darius Slayton is the next man: Slayton was a central point of the passing game of the New York Giants when Malik Nubers was injured last season. Allegedly with Nubers for the year, Slayton has the chance to perform.

Another week of the NFL season of 2025 is just about in the books. Here are the players you should focus in your fantasy football competitions, including options for smaller competitions and deeper competitions, as well as players to avoid.

Jaxson DartNew York Giants (Roasted in 20.9% of the competitions at ESPN)

  • League -size: 10, 12
  • Timeframe: Week 5, long term

Dart did not do much because of the air in his first NFL start and completed 13 of 20 passes for 111 yards and one touchdown. The Giants also lost their best wide receiver, Malik Nubers, who further thinned their depth at the position. But Dart had an influence on the ground and ran 10 times for 54 yards and a touchdown.

In the past two seasons, the only other quarterbacks with 10 or more carrys (excluding kneeling) for 50-plus yards and at least one touchdown in a match are Jals Hurts, Jayden Daniels, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Justin Fields. Those players include the top four Fantasy Quarterbacks and Fields has traditionally been a top 10 option if he is healthy.

Although there are safer for distance wire, Dart offers the top 10 upside down because of his hasty power alone. The Giants also have a volatile schedule, with several matchups against both the top 10 and the under-10 defenses. That makes Dart a matchup-dependent option that will rotate between your fantasy bench and starting line-up. This week he pulls a favorable matchup against the New Orleans Saints and can be used as a strong bye week filling or a potential long-term option.

Jake BrowningCincinnati Bengals (7.0%)

  • League -size: 10, 12
  • Timeframe: Week 5

Browning struggled in his first start of 2025 and completed 19-of-27 passes for 140 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against a major defense of Minnesota Vikings. The turnover was not ideal, but not all debt falls on Browning. Five Bengals players rumbling, with three-resulting in turnover, and Cincinnati also went several times and out.

Yet the reasons to be optimistic about Browning have changed. The defense of the Bengal has subsed, which should lead to negative game scripts and a lot of passing volume. And with Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins at his disposal, Browning’s Fantasy -Front views remains promising.

While Monday evening football against the Denver Broncos is not an ideal matchup, the remaining schedule of the Bengal is extremely favorable for Fantasy Quarterbacks. That piece starts in week 5 against the Detroit Lions, who allowed the sixth most fantasy points to Quarterbacks during the first three weeks. Cincinnati is then confronted with five teams arranged in the bottom five in fantasy points allowed to Quarterbacks, including two during the fantasy play -offs. Outside Denver and a week 6 -meeting with the Green Bay Packers, set the rest of the slate nicely.

Browning is not only a strong option week 5 – it is one of the best Quarterback for the rest of the season.
