Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Picks: NFL Week 11

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Picks: NFL Week 11

  • Tyler Allgeier is an acceptable option for the short term: Allgeier scored twice in Week 10 and has three upcoming games in which he could see double figures.

Another week of the 2025 NFL season is in the books. These are the players to target in your fantasy football leagues, including options for smaller leagues and deeper leagues, and players to avoid.

QUARTERLY BACKS

Joe Flacco, Cincinnati Bengals (Recorded in 33.3% of leagues on ESPN)

  • Competition size: 10
  • Time frame: Week 11, short term, long term

The waiver wire’s top quarterback performers this week were Davis Mills and Mac Jones, both of whom might not even be starters next week. The next two quarterbacks were Dillon Gabriel and Jacoby Brissett, who both scored two touchdowns but completed about half of their passes for less than 6.0 yards per attempt. It’s best to take quarterbacks off the waiver wire for what they could do the rest of the season, rather than what happened in Week 10.

Flacco completed 31 of 47 passes for 470 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions in the Bengals’ shootout loss in Week 9. He has averaged 25.5 fantasy points per game since becoming the team’s starter in Week 6. Flacco is still available in league play because there was some concern that he would not play in Week 9 due to injury and because the Bengals had their bye in Week 10.

In Week 11, the Bengals face the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Three of their next five games are against opponents that rank in the bottom 10 in the league in preventing fantasy points for quarterbacks. There are two rough matchups in there, and there’s a chance Joe Burrow is back in the fantasy championship bracket. However, Flacco should be viable for your fantasy starting lineup for four of the next six weeks of the fantasy football season.

JJ McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings (49.4%)

  • Competition size: 10
  • Timeframe: Long term

McCarthy had a rough Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 20 of 42 passes for 248 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. While throwing several elusive passes, he also showed what he could do in the run game, converting five carries into 48 yards. This put his fantasy production right among all quarterbacks this week.

The Vikings play the Chicago Bears next week, so McCarthy is a viable option off the waiver wire, but there are potentially better options for a week. He follows that up with two rough games against the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks, where it’s probably best to stay on fantasy benches. However, he ends the fantasy season with the Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Detroit Lions. The three NFC East teams all rank in the bottom four in preventing fantasy points for quarterbacks. McCarthy put up 19.9 fantasy points against the Lions in Week 9 in his first game back from injury.

Ideally, he will continue to improve in the coming weeks, making him a potential league winner come the fantasy playoffs.
