Expressions of importance: Sa First Nations Advisory Group | TV tonight

SAFC is looking for daring, insightful thinkers to support them by working with First Nations communities and non-native customers.

The South Australian Film Corporation invites interest in interest of SA-based First Nations Screen Practitioners and members of the wider SA First Nations Community to become a member of its new First Nations Advisory Group.

“We are looking for daring, insightful and constructive thinkers to become a member of the FNAG and support the SAFC by offering experience in industry, cultural expertise and guidance to ensure best practices to work with communities of First Nations and non-native customers and stakeholders,” says the SAFC.

The SAFC wants to connect the SA screen production of World Class and the various voices, stories, artistry and identity of our state with the public in Australia and the whole world. We are committed to emphasizing and supporting the voices and stories of First Nations on screens locally and worldwide through connection and opportunities in an environment that is professional and culturally strong. Cultural safety for people from First Nations is important to us. Our values ​​include meaningful and respectful two -way involvement to inform everything we do with stakeholders and for stakeholders of First Nations.

The work of the FNAG will inform the SAFC’s diversity and inclusion strategy, First Nations Screen Strategy and Reconciliation Action Plan and a series of other initiatives, programs and policy.

The group will include a maximum of six experienced and respected SA-based First Nations from the entire community, including in creative art (comprehensive screen), cultural and business sectors.

First Nations Advisory Group members:

will be appointed for the period of two years
selects a chair from the group
will have the right to receive costs for attending FNAG meetings (at least three of the four planned meetings per year), as well as ad hoc SAFC and industrial events as requested
Can attend meetings in person and/or online
Must at all times respectful, in good faith and in the interest of the SAFC act, adhere to the values ​​of the SAFC, Code of Conduct, Trade Conditions and other applicable SAFC policy, procedures or governance frameworks such as those with regard to conflicts of interest and confidentiality.

SAFC employees will prepare and distribute meeting papers and help members with other travel and accommodation schemes where applicable.
